OCCI thus renders several services to the business community, assisting them in implementing their projects smoothly. 

OCCI's primary aims are to ensure that the Omani industry gains its due place in the leading economies of the world, after integration into the world economy following its entry into the WTO. The OCCI works hard to ensure that the Government and the people of Oman as a whole, understand and appreciate both the role of industry and its contribution to nation building, under the benevolent reign of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. 

Towards achieving these objectives, OCCI 

• Acts as a catalyst in bringing about the growth and development of the Omani Industry.
• Identifies, enhances and coordinates the industry's role in the economic development of the country.
• Works towards achieving globalisation of the Omani industry and integration into the world economy. 
• Identifies areas of cooperation and addresses the special needs of the small sector.
• Provides up-to-date information and accurate data, based on research and surveys, to industry and govt.
• Strengthens and refocusses Omani industry's commitment to all sections of society. 
• Creates awareness and support on the industry's efforts on quality, environment and consumer protection.
• Fosters cooperation with similar bodies across the world.

OCCI has adopted a proactive and partnership approach with the government on various national and international issues concerning Oman's economy. The body closely interacts on policy issues at both the vision as well as implementation levels. The body promotes extensive mutual dialogue and interaction with members and all sections of the community, and in the process builds a commonality on issues that concern the business community as a whole.
